On this Episode of Discovering Wine Country we head to the high desert of Washington’s Yakima Valley. We will discover the 5 nested AVAs of the Yakima Valley and visit some of the vineyards including Elephant Mountain in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA, Roskamp in the Snipes Mountain AVA and the legendary Red Willow Vineyard.
We will also do a rabbit hole dive into wine bottle closures, cork vs screw cap.
The Yakima Valley AVA is diverse in many things, but the similarities in quality of fruit and the care that goes into growing these grapes spans the region.
